Ren & Stimpy Creator Animates Simpsons Opening

John Kricfalusi, creator of The Ren & Stimpy Show, guest-animated the opening sequence of The Simpsons last night, which played prior to the episode “Treehouse of Horror XXVI.†The sequence referenced Frank Grimes, the one-and-done character from season 9, among other things.
Previously, in 2011, Mr Kricfalusi also guest-animated the opening sequence that played before the episode “Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts.â€
Other artists who have taken charge of the couch gag in recent years include Banksy, Sylvain Chomet, Don Hertzfeldt, Michal Socha, Bill Plympton, and Guillermo del Toro.
