She-Ra: Princess of Power, a spin-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, ran for two seasons in the 80s, and after more than thirty years on hiatus, it's coming back as a Netflix reboot produced by DreamWorks Animation.
Noelle Stevenson, the 25-year-old creator of the Lumberjanes and Nimona comic books, will serve as showrunner. Stevenson won the 2015 Eisner Award for Best New Series, the 2015 Eisner Award for Best Publication for Teens, the 2016 Harvey Award for Best Original Graphic Publication for Young Readers, and the 2016 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book, all in recognition of her work on Lumberjanes. She was also nominated for a 2015 Nebula Award and a 2015 National Book Award in recognition of her work on Nimona.
DreamWorks has announced five other new series that they will be releasing on Netflix in 2018 as well: Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Harvey Street Kids, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, and Trollhunters Part 3.
