A Hey Arnold direct-to-TV movie is in the works, Nickelodeon executives announced earlier today. The plot line will include new revelations about Arnold’s parents, who were absent throughout the original series. The Nick execs offered no concrete premiere date for the movie.
In related news, Chris Viscardi, co-creator of The Adventures of Pete & Pete, has been named senior vice president of content development for franchise properties, a new position at Nickelodeon.
It is likely that the release of this movie will be used to gage interest in the revival of other 90s Nicktoons such as Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, and The Wild Thornberrys.
