Matt Stone and Trey Parker have revealed that they are avoiding Trump intentionally on South Park, Mr. Parker saying that "satire has kind of become reality."
In the most recent season, which ended shortly after the 2016 election results came in, Mr. Garrison acted as a stand-in for President Trump. The seventh episode of that season, entitled "Oh Jeez," was reportedly rewritten on the fly after the original version depicted a Hillary Clinton victory.
Mr. Parker expanded on the thought process behind avoiding Trump: "It was like what was actually happening was way funnier than anything we could come up with. So we just decided to back off and let them do their comedy and we'll do ours."
How long does it take to watch every episode of South Park?
