Stephen King Pitches Law and Order Spinoff Vampire Squad

There have been six Law and Order series to date, totaling for more than 1,100 episodes combined. If Stephen King has anything to say about it, though, that number is only going to get bigger -- vampire-style.
Best known as the author of The Shining, Carrie, The Body, and The Shawshank Redemption, King has pitched a Law and Order spinoff of his own, this one involving "cops hunting vampires." King's experience in television includes producing Kingdom Hospital in 2004 and co-writing a season-5 episode of The X-Files ("Chinga").
The most recent Law and Order spinoff, LA, premiered in 2010. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, which premiered in 1999, is still airing new episodes, and should NBC pick it up for its 20th season, it will likely surpass the original as the longest-running of the six series.
